For 2022 Haval isn’t making any specification changes to its recently introduced Jolion, though it has increased the price slightly.
All variants now have drive-away prices $1000 higher than before, with the range now opening at $26,490 drive-away.
The rest of the local GWM and Haval ranges have also seen similar price increases.
“Prices went up as of October 1st due to a number of increased costs through the supply chain,” said a spokesperson for GWM Haval Australia.
“There are no equipment or spec changes but we are confident that our range still offers excellent value whether it be a Haval SUV or the GWM Ute.”
Introduced earlier in 2021, the small Jolion crossover is a replacement for the old H2.
Though it hasn’t been on sale for the whole year so far, the Jolion has still logged 2330 sales to the end of September 2021. That puts it ahead of the Skoda Kamiq (1783) and has it staring down the Suzuki Vitara (2882).
In the month of September alone, it outsold rivals like the Kia Seltos, Toyota C-HR and Volkswagen T-Roc.
Sharp drive-away pricing and a long feature list have helped fuel the Jolion’s growth – it’s already bested the old H2’s entire 2020 sales tally – but GWM Haval Australia has also had far fewer supply issues than rival firms.

Power in the 2022 Haval Jolion comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 110kW of power and 210Nm of torque to the front wheels.
It’s mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Claimed fuel consumption for the 2022 Haval Jolion is 8.1L/100km on the combined cycle. The Haval Jolion drinks 91 RON regular unleaded.
The Haval Jolion measures 4472mm long, 1841mm wide and 1574mm tall, with a 2700mm wheelbase.
That’s 107mm longer, 136mm taller and 27mm wider than its H2 predecessor, with a 140mm longer wheelbase.
It has a 430L boot, expanding to 1133L with the second row folded. Under the boot floor is a space-saver spare.
Servicing and Warranty
The 2022 Haval Jolion is backed by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
It requires servicing every 12 months or 15,000km. Haval includes five years of capped-price servicing, with the first five services costing $210, $250, $350, $450 and $290.
The Haval Jolion hasn’t been crash tested by ANCAP or Euro NCAP yet. Local ANCAP safety testing has been affected by COVID-19 lockdowns and market-related delays, and we don’t yet know when the Jolion will be tested.
Unlike the old Haval H2, the Jolion boasts a full suite of active safety features as standard. Atop the front, front-side, curtain and front-centre airbags (seven in total), it offers:
