Hyundai Australia is seeing more and more interest in its N Performance line-up, and is actively working on a local N accessories range so buyers can personalise their vehicles further.

Speaking with CarExpert, local product development manager Tim Rodgers said the Korean brand’s local division is prepping a catalogue of extras, some of which have been developed locally, and looking into potential packages or special-edition models.

“Our accessories range, that’s coming into full gear pretty soon as well, and we’ll start looking at what we an do with those items and see if we can come up with something pretty nice,” he said.

“We aren’t afraid of limited editions – we’ve got i30 Fastback N Limited Edition out there, obviously, so we’re keen to test the waters and see what we can do.”

It’s understood some of these accessories will include wheel packages and sportier trim add-ons, much like BMW offers with its M Performance Parts range.

As for special editions, it’s unclear whether something like the hardcore i30 N Project C – with a slew of weight-saving carbon bits, lowered suspension, Sabelt bucket seats and OZ Racing forged alloys – would make it Down Under.

The news comes as Hyundai continues to expand its performance offerings, with the i20 N and Kona N joining the existing i30 Hatch N this month, and the i30 Sedan N arriving in December.

Further, the facelifted i30 Fastback N Limited Edition is available in limited numbers, with order books for the 500-strong local allocation due to close shortly.

Hyundai Australia is continuing to build on the ownership experience for its N models, and has its 2021 N Festival scheduled for 18-19 December.

The two-day event includes a an open track day at Winton Raceway in Regional Victoria, followed by a road drive from Wangaratta to the Ovens Valley, stopping in the town of Bright before climbing to the summit of Mount Hotham.
