2022 Skoda Scala price and specs

The 2022 Skoda Scala has entered the 2022 model year largely unchanged, though a number of features are currently unavailable due to the semiconductor shortage.

These include safety features such as blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, usually standard on the 110TSI Monte Carlo and 110TSI Signature trims.

There’s also a Skoda premium sound system that’s currently unavailable on the 110TSI Monte Carlo’s optional Travel Pack.

As compensation for the removed feature(s), the Skoda Australia spokesperson confirmed that all affected cars will “include a credit for the adjusted specification”. They also indicated that a customer can wait for the restored specification.

At this stage, Skoda Australia is aiming to have the missing features return to the Scala by the 2023 model year change, which is around June 2022.

The Scala isn’t the only Skoda model currently missing features due to the ongoing global semiconductor shortage. It also spans the Skoda Kamiq, Octavia, Superb, and Kodiaq.

Shortly after launch, Skoda replaced the flagship 110TSI Launch Edition trim with the 110TSI Signature.

The 110TSI Signature has all the same standard features as the 110TSI Launch Edition but misses out on the unique 18-inch alloy wheels. Instead, the 110TSI Signature receives the 110TSI Ambition’s silver 18-inch alloy wheels.

Pricing for the 2022 Skoda Scala starts at $30,990 drive-away for the entry-level 110TSI Ambition manual and extends to $38,990 drive-away for the 110TSI Signature.

The Scala represents a strong push from Skoda into Volkswagen Golf, Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3 and Hyundai i30 territory.

Although it’s built on the same MQB A0 platform as the smaller Volkswagen Polo, the Scala is actually larger than a Golf or Corolla – and promises to pack more into its boot than its rivals.

In 2021 Skoda sold a total of 896 Scala models, which is less than the Toyota Corolla (28,768 sales), Hyundai i30 (25,575 sales), Mazda 3 (14,126 sales), and the Volkswagen Golf (1926 sales).

This engine is mated to either a six-speed manual transmission (Ambition only) or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Fuel Economy

Claimed combined fuel economy for the 2022 Skoda Scala with the manual transmission is 4.9L/100km and 5.5L/100km with the dual-clutch auto.

All 2022 Skoda Scala models have a 50L fuel tank and require a minimum of 95 RON premium unleaded petrol.

Servicing and Warranty

The 2022 Skoda Scala, like the whole Skoda range, is covered by a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty. There’s also 12 months of complimentary roadside assist that’s renewed for another 12 months after each service with a Skoda dealer.

Scheduled servicing is required every 15,000km or 12 months, whichever occurs first.

Skoda Australia is currently offering a seven-year warranty and a service pack covering seven years, with three free services, until June 30, 2022. This service package costs $2100.

The Scala is also available with a five-year, 75,000km service pack, as well as a four-year, 60,000km service pack that can be purchased after your car’s first scheduled service or 12 months after the warranty starts.

The five- and four-year service packs cost $1500 and $1300, respectively.
